CHURCHVILLE
FIRE DEPARTMENT USES AEROLIFE SAFETY PRODUCTS DURING LIVE
NIGHT ICE RESCUE TRAINING
CHURCHVILLE,
N.Y. – (February 19, 2007) – AeroLife Products
supplied Beacon™
Helmet Lamps and Guardian
2™ Belts to Churchville Fire Department for use
during a simulated nighttime ice water rescue.
Firemen
donned wetsuits and entered icy waters in a remote pond. This
exercise was designed to train responders in case of an individual
breaking through the ice. Rescuers entering the water work
with teammates at the shoreline, and it is critical that they
can see each other to give hand signals and ensure safety.
In the dark of night, Churchville relied on AeroLife's Beacon™
Helmet Lamps to maintain eye contact between teammates.
Other
emergency responders handling traffic during the event wore
Guardian 2™ Belts to ensure the maximum visibility to
approaching drivers.
AeroLife's
products worked flawlessly during the event, standing up to
frigid temperatures and icy water.
